Family Advocate -Full Time Professional Position
Green Hills Women’s Shelter has a Family Advocate position opening. The Family Advocate is responsible for providing targeted intensive services to high-risk families that are survivors of domestic, sexual violence, or child abuse/neglect. The Family Advocate will provide services to families within the GHWS 10 county catchment area. The position will require travel and have non-typical work hours. Competitive salary and benefit package provided. Bachelor’s degree in social work, criminal justice, education or related field required. The position involves working with high risk families on reaching goals related to their individual family needs. This can and may include equipping parents to learn behavior modification techniques, seeking services for the children and parent, developing routines, learning coping mechanisms to trauma, and a variety of other tasks. Their may be advocacy related to attending and participating in family support team meetings with children’s division, attending court hearings, and assisting clients with other self-identified goals for themselves.
Trenton & Cameron PRN Part Time Staff Members Needed:
Our part time position is on an as needed basis to assist full time staff members with holiday time off, vacations, staff vacancies, and other holes in our schedules. The hours will not be consistent and will include nights, weekends, and holidays. The position is responsible for supervision of the shelter facility and clients, communication with on call staff members, accepting phone calls on a crisis hotline and business line, taking messages, completing paperwork, accepting and documenting donations, and providing a trauma centered environment for shelter residents and their children. This position may include short and longer weekend shifts that will involve overnight stays.
This position pays 9.00/hour week day, 7.70/sleep shift, and 11.00/hour for weekends. Green Hills Women’s Shelter is currently seeking a licensed counselor/ therapist to provide individualized counseling sessions.
