Green Hills Women’s Shelter was awarded $40,000 in Domestic Violence Tax Credits for the period of July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019. To claim 50% tax credits on 2018 taxes the credits will have to be purchased by 12/31/2018.
Green Hills Women’s Shelter depends on the generosity of donations from private donors to provide support to survivors of domestic and sexual violence and their children. Survivors face many challenges when leaving an abusive situation and often have few financial resources to gain safety, stability, and self-sufficiency. Money that is donated to the program is used in many different ways to support the survivors. In the past, it has been used for payment of individual rent, utility deposits, medication, children’s school activity fees, child care costs, automobile expenses, employment supports, and various fees associated with obtaining birth certificates and other legal documents.
It is a great financial benefit to individuals as well as the shelter program. Funds collected can make the difference in the life of a survivor of domestic and sexual violence and also demonstrates to the Missouri Department of Social Services that individuals are interested in support the program. We appreciate your donation. Please contact us with any and all questions you may have regarding the program.
Donations of $100.00 or more may be eligible for the Domestic Violence Shelter Tax Credit. This means you may receive a tax credit for up to 50% of your contribution.
