Have you seen our new billboards? We were thankful to have the billboards approved and funded through the Victim's of Crime Act grant through the Department of Social Services.    Our goal with these billboards is to make an impact by having a 'wow' factor as people drive past, helping to reach survivors in our service area, and challenging individuals to really consider individuals face the dynamics of domestic and sexual violence.   Please watch for our other two billboards which will be going up on Hwy 36 and on Hwy 65.

‘In Her Shoes’ Simulation at Community Action Partnership in St. Joseph

On Wednesday, October 18th, advocates presented the “In Her Shoes” simulation to Community Action Partnership in St. Joseph, Missouri. This group did a fantastic job maneuvering their way through the simulation and did an even more amazing job processing the their thoughts, feelings, struggles, and insights during the debriefing process. We wanted to extend a special thanks to Karen for allowing us to reserve and use the “welcome room” located in the Missouri Care building in St. Joseph, MO. They provided the location for free as well as furnished beverages and candy. The room can be reserved for free by calling Karen at 816-383-5901 for your next business meeting or event. Thank you so much Karen for being a great hostess! In Their Shoes Presentation to Cameron High School students

Students at Cameron High School got the opportunity to Wednesday to participate in the 'In Their Shoes' Simulation.    The simulation allows students to walk through lives of different students facing difficult situations such as bullying, dating violence, and racial prejudice.   The students then make decisions based on what they would choose to do in each of the scenarios.    The simulation is a great activity to stimulate discussion on real life pressures teens face in their lives.    If you are interested in bringing this activity to your students, youth groups, or staff teams please call us and schedule your date!
