Dating Simulation at Green City Schools

On May 9, 2018 the Green City Schools Junior and Freshman classes participated in a teen dating violence simulation titled 'In Their Shoes'.   The simulation offers real life examples of choices teens are faced with in relationships.   Teens walk through the simulation and make decisions based on scenarios provided. A lot of work and input was done by Green City's teachers and administration.   All teachers walked through the simulation back on January 2, 2018 to see if it was something the teachers felt would be an appropriate and educational resource for the students.   The teachers felt the tool was impactful and brought to life real life scenarios that they see their students facing. Crime Victim’s Rights Week

April 13, 2018 During the Crime Victim’s Rights Week ceremony hosted by Western Missouri Correctional Center and Crossroads Correctional Center at Cameron City Hall, Casey Fisher presented information on the Green Hills Women’s Shelter and their services. After the presentation, the GHWS of Cameron was presented with hygiene items and monetary donations collected by Crossroads Correctional Center staff, Western Missouri Correctional Center staff, Crossroads Correctional Center NAACP Offender Program, and Crossroads Correctional Center Restorative Justice Offender Program. As always, we thank both Western Missouri Correctional Center and Crossroads Correctional Center for remaining supportive of the Green Hills Women’s Shelter and for working diligently to assure that victims are not forgotten.

6th Annual Chief’s Tea

You Are Invited to Join Us in Attending the 6th Annual Chief’s Tea Hosted by Trenton’s Chief of Police, Tommy Wright, & Green Hills Women’s Shelter A  Domestic & Sexual Violence Awareness Event This year’s keynote speaker includes Roger Kemp Roger Kemp worked tirelessly to bring his daughter’s murderer to justice.  During that struggle he created a billboard campaign which posts criminals pictures on billboards that has been adopted by law enforcement agencies across the United States including the F.B.I. and the hit series America’s Most Wanted.  To this day these billboards continue to be used and have apprehended murderers by the hundreds.  The Kemp’s founded The Ali Kemp Educational Foundation and fostered the creation of the T.A.K.E. Crossroad’s Correctional Center Donates to Program

On Friday January 26th, Green Hills Women's Shelter advocate, Casey Fisher, posed for a picture with Crossroads Correctional Center's Karen Gatton, and the donations from the prison.   Inmates at Crossroads Correctional Center in Cameron that are in the Restorative Justice Organization hand-made and then donated the pictured blankets.  Also, the Crossroads Correctional Center Personnel Club made a monetary donation that was collected from the staff that donated $1.00 to wear jeans on designated dress down days.   The Green Hills Women's Shelter would like to thank Crossroads Correctional Center for the continued community support!
